Assistant Professor – Languages and Literatures Lehman College, CUNY
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
– Teach undergraduate courses in Spanish at all levels for the Department of Languages and Literatures.
– Provide student advisement and serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
Lehman College, a senior college of the City University of New York, offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. Its campus is located in the Northwest Bronx in New York City, convenient to Manhattan, Westchester, and Rockland Counties, and New Jersey. Faculty will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Lehman College based centers and institutes on research and other projects of scholarly interest.
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Ph.D. in Spanish required; native proficiency in Spanish and English strongly preferred; expertise in Latin American poetry strongly preferred. Additionally, experience teaching Spanish for business majors course is preferred. Interest or experience in on-line teaching preferred.
